Former Dynamos striker Norman Maroto has advised Dynamos acquisition Takunda Mawarire to be focused and most importantly work hard in his pursuit to score goals for glamour Boys.
In a recent interview with Dynamos TV Mawarire highlighted his desire to score goals for Dynamos after moving from FC Platinum to settle at dembare. Responding to the interview by Mawarire Maroto tweeted, ”There is power in words but they need to be backed up by hard work, make the opportunity count when football finally resumes”, said Maroto.
Maroto is renowned for a blistering start at the glamour boys when as a Churchill Boys High School student he hogged the limelight following some impressive goal scoring feats when the glamour boys were coached by Moses Chunga. Maroto would go onto become one of the most prolific strikers, helping gunners win the 2009 league title.
The former Dynamos forward remains the last Zimbabwean striker to score 20 goals in a season. Since his performance in 2009 there has been no other forward that has managed to reach the 20 goal mark. It is hoped the words of inspiration by Maroto will help push Mawarire to work even harder and vigorously pursue his hopes of making a mark at Dynamos which is currently on a revival path and relishing the prospect of a return to football.
