As Dynamos embark on a path of commercializing and seeking to ensure the glamour boys brand realizes its true value, Yvonne Mangunda is expected to play a key role in the clubs turnaround. Mangunda was yesterday unveiled as the clubs new Marketing and Communications Manager.
Mangunda has a rich sports background which is expected to help lead the Dynamos brand into the future. Widely known as the first lady of sport, Yvonne spent 8 years with Star FM, emerging as one of the leading voices at the Zimpapers owned radio station. During her time at Star FM she scooped the Multimedia reporter of the year award as well as the 2019 Sports Journalists Association sports reporter of the year accolade.
When asked by a fan on twitter about whether her allegiance has always been with Dynamos her response was, “The honest truth is no. The promise is I will do everything in my power to execute my responsibilities. I took the job because of my passion for sport, football and personal ambition” said Mangunda.
Social media was on Wednesday awash with congratulatory messages as the clubs new manager embarks on a fresh challenge which is expected to help the club align itself with international best practice. One of the fundamental areas of conforming to Caf club licensing requirements is having a full time marketing and communications expert within the club’s structure.
