Right back Emmanuel Jalai predicts a tough encounter against ZPC Kariba this afternoon at the National Sports Stadium. The two teams clash on matchday three of the Chibuku Super Cup.
Dynamos are coming from a 4-0 victory over Yadah, a result which Jalai believes increased the team’s confidence ahead of the clash. ZPC Kariba will be desperate to get their first win of the tournament.
“We are expecting a very difficult game against ZPC today. There’s no small game in the world of football.
“ It’s important to win games. That’s obviously the reason why we train and compete. Every game is a serious one for us.”
“I am sure we have the capacity and the belief to go out there and compete. Our aim is to go out there and win. The match won’t be easy, it will be the best team of the afternoon to collect maximum points. We are approaching the encounter like an other as per our coaches instructions, we have to carry ourselves properly.”
The closest Kauya Katuruturu came to winning any silverware in the topflight was in 2014 when they lost the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League title to Dembare by one point, on the final day of the season. Chazunguza on the other hand have the highest number of titles in the league.
Jalai is not reading too much into history or previous results between the two clubs. Dembare beat ZPC 1-0 and drew 1-1 in the previous season, in 2019. They were no matches last year due to COVID 19.
” We have beaten ZPC in some matches but history doesn’t count for anything when it comes to football. This is a new game, new period and everything will be fresh. Whoever plays well will win.”
